Veterinarian and Owner at East Hills Veterinary Clinic and Red Bank Veterinary Hospital
Hello! I’m Dr. Jenifer Wieneke, the proud Owner and Medical Director of East Hills Veterinary Clinic. My path to veterinary medicine was not a straight line, but a journey filled with diverse experiences that shaped my passion for this field. Initially drawn to human medicine, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant while attending Northern Kentucky University, where I earned my BS in Biology in 1997.
Following my graduation, I ventured into the business side of healthcare with The Urology Group, combining my love for medicine and business. But veterinary medicine has been a passion of mine since my childhood, and it was irresistible. I was accepted to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, where I completed my DVM in May 2006.
I began my veterinary career in a small animal hospital in Cincinnati, and after a period as a relief veterinarian, I found my place at East Hills Veterinary Clinic. Under the mentorship of Dr. Bo Williamson, I started as a partial owner in February 2012, achieving full ownership by July 2013.
Veterinary medicine allows me to blend my love for animals, people, and medicine, which I love! I also love working with cats. They are amazing creatures! I have special interests in internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. There is nothing better than when a pet comes back and acts like it is two again after dealing with its dental issues!
I am a member of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). I was honored to speak at the AAHA convention in 2017.
In addition to Veterinary Medicine, one of my biggest passions is teaching and giving back to the community. In 2022, I was honored to become a member of the Service Industry Council at CINSAM of Northern Kentucky University.
My personal interests include reading, gardening, and bird watching.
