Associate Veterinarian at East Hills Veterinary Clinic
Hello! I’m Dr. Peter Jorgensen, and I’m proud to be the newest associate veterinarian at East Hill’s Veterinary Clinic.
I have been fascinated by animals from all walks of life for as long as I can remember. My childhood dog, Freckles, meant the world to me, and I cannot imagine growing up without him. My grandfather, his two brothers, and my uncle were veterinarians. It was hearing their lifetime of stories that inspired me to pursue an Animal Science degree at Iowa State University (ISU). Throughout my time in undergrad, I worked in small animal clinics and performed viral/antibody research that benefited the university, private drug companies, and farmers across the Midwest. I also worked on cutting edge research projects involving swine and dairy cattle. This diverse experience honed my skills and narrowed my focus. I realized that what I cherish most, is the intimate practice of nurturing the human to companion animal bond.
I was awarded my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2025 from ISU’s College of Veterinary Medicine, the United States’ first public college of veterinary medicine. I thoroughly enjoyed my involvement in planning fun athletic and social events, as well as leading weekly yoga practice for the students and faculty during my time there. I can truly say I was held to the highest standards by some of the brightest, most nurturing mentors alongside the kindest, most passionate peers I have ever met.
In my personal time, I like to do anything that involves moving my body and the outdoors. Some of my favorites are, hockey, fishing, golf, yoga, swimming, hiking, mowing the lawn and many more. I also enjoy getting involved in my community. Any activities that can be performed with family, friends, and my cat, Helen, makes them all the more enjoyable.
Some of my personal areas of veterinary interest are internal medicine, dermatology, geriatric care and more. I look forward to upholding the highest principles of animal welfare alongside the team at EHVC and making many connections with the community of Loveland!
