East Hills Animal Hospital and Red Bank Veterinary Hospital are progressive, growing, AAHA-accredited, small animal hospitals located in Loveland and Cincinnati, Ohio. Our clinic is well equipped with in house blood machines, digital x-rays, laser therapy, digital dental x-rays, ultrasound, and RVT support and we practice team medicine. No after hours or on call will be expected. Our benefit package for full- time technicians includes: a generous starting salary; full medical benefits including health, vision and dental; AFLAC insurance; Simple IRA; a generous vacation package, and yearly CE allowance. We are willing to negotiate our contract for the right individual. Salary is commiserate with experience. The ideal candidate would assist the doctor with surgery, medicine and outpatients care. They also would be able to perform routine labs, draw blood, effectively restrain both dogs and cats. Candidate should be a good people person and be able to communicate with compassion and empathy. Must also be friendly and love to have fun at work. Candidate will be responsible for care of surgical, dental, and and equipment.

Job Duties

  • Handle, sedate, and monitor surgical canine and feline patients.
  • Assist with paperwork and charts for patients.
  • Perform surgical intake and discharge as needed.
  • Observe all surgical protocols to prevent infection and increase successful patient outcomes.
  • Adherence to the mission and core values of East Hills Veterinary Animal Clinic
  • Veterinary Technician: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in fear free and safe cat and dog handling techniques.
  • Familiarity with veterinary clinic software such as AVIMARK

Physical Demands

  • Requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform duties while at the hospital.
  • Ability lift, carry, move up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Associate is routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances.

Experience:

  • Veterinary experience: 1 year (Required)
